A leading global manufacturer of mixing desks for the music industry approached us with a project that required a high quality touch
display, with precise viewing angles needed to provide the audio engineer operating the desk excellent visibility of the
display screen from both a seated and standing position.
For a number of years, Impulse Embedded have been providing industrial
display solutions for various markets. Mixing consoles are used in many applications within the music industry, including recording studios, live work, and broadcasting, and as the use of digital electronics increases, a typical mixing desk may include a range of touch screen units to
display control and digital mixing and sound processing capabilities, replacing the more traditional analog style mixing desks seen in previous years.
Some mechanical challenges were presented within this project that meant a custom solution was required, as the whole
display had to be rotated through 180 degrees without compromising the viewing quality or changing the position on the
display I/O.
Impulse Embedded has the resources and expertise to offer complete custom solutions, and to meet the complex requirements of the project our technical team organised a tailor-made solution that included the metalwork, firmware and an application to give dimming functionality for the
display.
Finally, the customer was provided with stock holding and a flexible call off facility, free of charge, which gave complete production flexibility and reduced lead time.
