CS181-Q370 – Industrial Mini-ITX Motherboard for Deep Learning and Inference at the Edge
  • 5G expansion support for high-speed remote communication at the Edge
  • Increased vision processing capabilities with scalable NVIDIA MXM GPU performance
Building on the Intel 9th Generation Core platform, the CS181-Q370 Mini-ITX motherboard from DFI combines Intel multi-core desktop processing with MXM graphics support to accelerate AI vision and machine learning applications. With 5G module support as well offering high network traffic capacity, the CS181-Q370 is a powerful component for an intelligent Edge AI computing system.
By installing an MXM module directly onto the CS181-Q370 Mini-ITX motherboard, DFI offers system builders the ability to meet the processing requirements of high precision computer vision applications in a compact, low power and cost-effective form factor.

MXM modules for Vision and AI applications

DFI has designed the CS181-Q370 motherboard to meet the needs of embedded, ruggedised mobile vision applications , by supporting on-board MXM modules which enable system builders to bring NVIDIA Quadro RTX Artificial Intelligence (AI), Deep learning (DL) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities to form factors where conventional PCI Express Graphics Processing Units (GPU) are not suitable. With a range of RTX cards from 40W to 110W TDP, along with up to 3072 CUDA cores and 384 Tensor cores, NVIDIA MXM modules are scalable to the needs of a wide range of vision and AI applications including optical inspection, machine vision, vision-guided robotics and automated guided vehicles ideal for factory automation.
For applications at the Edge, data and speed are king. The time it takes to act on the information can cost money so in addition to moving the data processing as close to the source as possible, DFI has further strengthened the scope by including comprehensive communication features on the CS-181-Q370. These include four Gigabit Ethernet ports, including one Intel-i219 port for vPro support, and three M.2 ports for cellular and Wi-Fi expansion. These include an M.2 3052/3042 B-key for 5G cellular modules, offering high-speed networking in locations where conventional cabling is not possible or too costly.
No industrial long-term motherboard is complete without a rich selection of I/O options, so in addition to the four network ports and flexible wireless communication expansion options, the CS181-Q370 can support up to four independent displays via four DP++ and one HDMI on the rear I/O, as well as four 10Gbps USB3.1 Gen 2 Type-A connectors. Internally there are two serial ports supporting RS-232/422/485, two USB2.0 headers, 8-bit digital I/O, LPC and SMBus, as well as an eDP port for integration directly into a flat panel display.
Hardware monitoring and security features come as standard on the board, including iAMT 12.0, vPro, features for remote access and repair, and TPM2.0 is also on-board to aid data integrity. Temperature, voltage, and fan monitoring is also included helping keep the board stable and protected while in operation. The CS181-Q370 also supports the latest Windows 11 and Windows 10 IoT 64-bit operating systems along with Linux Ubuntu 64-bit, all of which Impulse can assist with should you require install and configuration on systems before shipping.
