Elkhart Lake, the latest Intel Atom X6000, Pentium, and Celeron processors for all things IoT
With the aim of supporting the next generation of IoT Edge devices, Intel has developed a brand new line of processors enhanced for IoT applications. Formally named Elkhart Lake, these processors leverage new levels of CPU and graphics performance to enhance workload consolidation to meet the latest IoT focused requirements.

  • Low 4.5 to 12W TDP consumption
  • Low power DDR4x-4267 and DDR4-3200 memory support
  • Latest Intel UHD graphics
  • Three independent displays for flexible display options
  • In-band and out-of-band remote device manageability
  • Improved hardware-based security

Impulse has already seen several promising developments by our board and system manufacturing partners, who are utilising the Elkhart Lake processors, and we look forward to seeing what other innovations they come up with as they grow more familiar with the range and the newly supported features. Here are some details of just a couple of new, innovative products from our worldwide manufacturing partners using the Elkart Lake processing family:

Neousys have developed the POC-40 — an extremely compact fanless system built for IoT, featuring the Atom X6211E 1.2GHz dual-core processor supporting up to 32GB DDR4-3200 system memory all on a vertical footprint the size of a credit card, whilst packing a comprehensive range of I/O including dual Gigabit Ethernet, four COM ports, four USB, 8-bit isolated digital I/O and 5G module cellular support.

In Aaeon’s pipeline is the PICO-EHL4 — a tiny 2.5” single-board computer (SBC) providing a host of features offering the flexibility to meet the needs of a variety of applications. The PICO-EHL4 board can connect to a host of devices thanks to its I/O support including 4-channel GPIO, dual Gigabit Ethernet, USB3.2 Gen2 ports, and two serial RS-232/422/485 ports. It also supports HDMI and LVDS graphic interfaces making the board ideal for true embedded applications for machine builders and OEMs.
