MIC-770 V2 – Certified by Canonical for use with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
  • Expandable embedded computer powered by Intel 10th Generation Core processors
  • Fanless embedded system for reliable operation at the edge
  • Hardware is certified for compliance with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
Advantech’s MIC-770-V2 is a rugged embedded computer combining high-performance Intel 10th Gen Core processors and multiple I/O interfaces with flexible expansion options via Advantech’s FlexIO, iDoor, and i-Module systems. Through the certification for Ubuntu 20.04, Ubuntu’s publisher Canonical has guaranteed regular updates and extended security maintenance (ESM) for 5 years offering a secure and reliable platform for AI (Artificial Intelligence) and edge computing applications.

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Certification

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS is a long-term support version of the popular Ubuntu Operating System with a guaranteed lifetime of 10 years and support for up to 5 years. The Certification by Canonical is a guarantee that the updates and patches released during the support period will be validated on the MIC-770-V2 at Canonical labs. Meaning the patches and updates can be pushed out to the MIC-770-V2 with complete confidence.

About the MIC-770 V2

The MIC-770-V2 is the latest iteration of the MIC-7000 range of compact modularized systems from Advantech. Featuring Intel 10th Generation Core processors and high speed DDR4 2933MHz memory the MIC-770-V2 can serve as a high-end data gateway and industrial automation controller. With plentiful I/O as standard including, multi-monitor support, via HDMI and VGA, eight USB ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet ports and two com ports supporting RS-232/422/485 signals. Additionally, the MIC-770-V2 can be tailored to more specific applications by Advantech’s iDoor, FlexIO, and i-Module expansion options without needing expensive re-design work.
  • FlexIO is a modular pluggable board system that offers a whole host of options including additional storage, GPIO, display outputs, COM ports and four PoE ports.
  • iDoor is a pluggable expansion system that uses MiniPCIe and can be seamlessly screwed into a removable plate on the front of the MIC-770, offering additional I/O ports like CANbus, LAN, serial and GPIO
  • i-Module is a stackable modular system offering a range of PCIe and PCI expansion options allowing the end-user to expand on the functionality and install data acquisition cards, network cards and up to two 250W GPU cards for inference and video analytics.
Altogether these modularised expansion systems combined with the high-performance processor, and Canonical certification for Ubuntu LTS 20.04 makes the MIC-770 V2 an outstanding choice for a whole host of applications at the edge including automation, inference, machine vision and vision analytics.
