Industrial DAQ & Control FAQs

Yes. Many DAQ and control devices are designed to integrate into existing industrial networks and control systems. Depending on the application, this may include Ethernet, serial, fieldbus, Modbus, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, BACnet, CAN or other industrial communication protocols. DAQ and control hardware can often be used alongside PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs and existing monitoring platforms. With the right product selection and configuration, these devices can help extend monitoring capability, add remote I/O, bridge protocol gaps or bring additional data into an existing system.
Modbus TCP uses Ethernet communication, making it suitable for modern industrial networks where devices need to communicate over standard network infrastructure. It is commonly used with Ethernet remote I/O, controllers, gateways, SCADA systems and industrial PCs. Modbus RTU uses serial communication, usually RS-485 or RS-232. It is widely used in legacy equipment, field devices, meters and distributed control systems. Protocol gateways can often be used to connect Modbus RTU devices into Modbus TCP or other industrial networks.
