Moxa's EDS-4000/G4000 Managed Industrial Ethernet Switches
  • The world’s first IEC 62443-4-2 compliant industrial Ethernet switch
  • Future-ready connectivity with up to 2.5Gbps high bandwidth rates
  • All new MX-NOS operating system simplifies network management
Moxa has released the next step in the modernisation of their DIN-rail mountable industrial Ethernet switches, boasting 68 models ranging from 8 to 14 ports, with up to 2.5Gbps network speeds, optional PoE and extensive combinations of communication media; as well as a revamped Linux based operating system and a new power supply system that offers flexibility in installation and field maintenance.

The EDS-4000 and EDS-G4000 ranges are defined primarily by the Ethernet speeds they support, with the 4000 series supporting 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet whilst the G4000 series supports 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet.

Each model offers wide and extended temperature models as well as 110/220V DC and 12/24/48V DC variants with the latter featuring redundant dual inputs for additional robustness. Moxa has covered a variety of communication mediums with multi-mode SC and ST, single-mode SC, and SFP fibre options supporting speeds up to 2.5Gbps on specific models.  Furthermore, selected models also support 802.3bt PoE with up to 90W of power per port.

New features

IEC 62443 cybersecurity compliance
Moxa has built the EDS-4000/G4000 with security in mind, boasting the world’s first ISA/IEC 62443 compliant networking range ensuring that the switches themselves are cybersecure in design and function. ISA/IEC 62433 compliance is a series of network standards developed by the ISA99 committee and adopted by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), offering a flexible framework to address security vulnerabilities in Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) both in the present day and the future.

Modular power units
The power units used in the EDS-4000/G4000 range have been created with a flexible removable design that allows the user to rotate the power inputs between two settings - vertical and front-facing. Combined with its compact size allowing for space-restricted installations, this modular power design allows for easy replacement of the power unit in the event of failure without having to remove the complete device.

MX-NOS – a single operating system for all devices
MX-NOS is Moxa’s secure network operating system that features a comprehensive selection of device management features. It uses an intuitive HTML5-based web UI for consistent cross-device usability and harmonious integration with other Moxa software suites like MXview, allowing users to easily and effectively monitor and visualise their industrial network topology and devices.
