The EKI-2741FL is an industrial-grade media converter designed to convert a copper TX Ethernet network to a SFP type fibre optic network. The advantage to fibre optics is wider bandwidth, added EMI immunity, and extended distance transmission. Therefore the EKI-2741FL is an ideal solution for “fibre-to-the-building” applications in central offices and remote sites. The EKI-2741FL also supports MDI/MDIX auto detection, meaning you no longer have to use crossover wires.
