The EDS-408A-3S-SC-48-T adds wide-temperature capability (-40 to +75 °C) to the 3x single-mode SC fibre model, delivering reliable managed Ethernet for harsh outdoor enclosures and rolling-stock/wayside applications. It offers five 10/100 RJ-45 access ports and three 100BaseFX single-mode SC uplinks for 40 km runs, ideal for long-distance spurs, tunnels and inter-building rings.
High availability is built in: Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain provide sub-20 ms recovery across large rings, while STP/RSTP ensures multi-vendor interoperability. For deterministic traffic, the switch supports 802.1Q and port-based VLAN, QoS (802.1p/ToS), IGMP snooping, bandwidth management, RMON, and port mirroring. OT integration is simplified by EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP, and fleets can be visualised with MXstudio. Configuration and monitoring are available via web GUI, CLI, Telnet/serial console, or Windows utility; relay output and email provide proactive fault notification.
Electrical design features redundant dual inputs for ±24/±48 VDC (±19 to ±60 VDC operating) with reverse polarity and over-current protection. The compact IP30 metal housing supports DIN-rail or wall mounting, and the unit is tested for shock, vibration and freefall to IEC standards. Certifications include EN 50121-4 railway EMC, NEMA TS2 traffic, ATEX/Class I Div 2, and marine approvals—meeting the demands of transport and energy infrastructure.
With 8K MAC capacity, 256 IGMP groups, 1 Mbit buffer, 4 priority queues, and a 5-year warranty, the EDS-408A-3S-SC-48-T delivers secure, long-reach fibre networking where temperature extremes and uptime requirements are non-negotiable.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
