The Moxa EDS-G2008-EL Series delivers reliable, unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet connectivity in a compact, rugged form factor designed for industrial use. With eight full Gigabit copper ports, these entry-level switches provide simple high-speed networking for control systems, surveillance, and automation applications where cost-effective and robust solutions are needed.
To enhance versatility, the EDS-G2008-EL Series includes DIP switches for enabling or disabling Quality of Service (QoS) and broadcast storm protection (BSP), giving users control over traffic prioritisation and network stability. All ports support auto-negotiation, auto MDI/MDI-X, and store-and-forward switching for seamless plug-and-play integration.
Built with an IP40-rated metal enclosure, the switches are resistant to vibration, shock, and freefall, making them suitable for deployment in control panels or harsh industrial environments. Power is supplied via a single 12/24/48 VDC input (9.6–60 VDC operating range), with reverse polarity and overload protection to ensure dependable operation.
The compact housing supports DIN-rail or optional wall mounting, simplifying installation in limited spaces. High EMI/EMC resistance and a proven 100% burn-in test process guarantee field reliability. Certified to CE, UL, and EN standards, the EDS-G2008-EL Series is ideal for applications across factory automation, utilities, intelligent transport, and energy.
Two versions are available: the standard Wide -10°C to +60°C model and the Extended wide -40°C to +75°C model for extreme environments. Together, they provide cost-efficient Gigabit connectivity with industrial-grade robustness.

Spurious error messages, especially those from rolling-stock subsystems, can be difficult and time consuming to diagnose. Siemens Rail, in Manchester, wished to install a data logging system onto their rolling stock to transmit data in real-time back to their depot for efficient data analysis by their team.
