The EKI-2728S Series offers unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switching with integrated single-mode fibre uplinks for long-distance connectivity. Featuring six 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ-45 ports and two SC single-mode fibre ports, the switches extend Ethernet up to 10 km, providing reliable backbone connectivity for industrial networks.
Conforming to IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3ab, and 802.3z standards, the switches provide plug-and-play functionality with auto-negotiation, full/half-duplex, and MDI/MDI-X support. Advanced functions include Link Fault Pass-through (LFP) for enhanced network recovery and jumbo frame support up to 9216 bytes to boost performance in data-intensive environments.
Power is supplied via redundant dual inputs (12–48 VDC or 24 VAC) with built-in protection against reverse polarity and overload. Power consumption is just 7 W, ensuring efficient, reliable operation.
The compact IP30-rated metal housing supports both DIN-rail and wall-mount installation. Dimensions of 59.6 x 152 x 105 mm make the unit suitable for control cabinets where space is limited. Models designated SI are rated for -40 to 75 °C operation, enabling use in outdoor and wide-temperature environments.
Certified for CE, FCC, and EN 61000 EMC standards, and tested against IEC mechanical shock, vibration, and freefall requirements, the EKI-2728S Series ensures rugged reliability. Typical applications include industrial automation, utilities, and long-distance connections in transport infrastructure.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
