MGate MB3470-G2 is a rugged, 4-port Modbus gateway that connects legacy serial devices to modern Ethernet SCADA and PLC networks without changing control logic. Each software-selectable RS-232/422/485 port converts between Modbus RTU/ASCII and Modbus TCP in either transparent mode or high-performance agent mode. In agent mode, the gateway polls serial slaves and caches values in memory, so supervisory systems read fresh data directly from the gateway with lower latency and higher throughput.
On the Ethernet side, two 10/100Base-T(X) RJ45 ports support cascade wiring or dual-subnet architectures, helping you simplify panel layouts and segmentation. The platform scales cleanly, with support for multiple concurrent Modbus TCP client and server sessions, enabling HMIs, historians and analytics to run in parallel. Commissioning is fast via a secure HTTPS web console, with intuitive Modbus diagnostics and traffic monitoring to speed setup and fault-finding. Security is strengthened with TLS and SNMPv3, and development follows IEC 62443-4-2/-4-1 practices for industrial cybersecurity.
For harsh environments, -T models operate from -40 to +75°C, while -I variants add 2 kV serial isolation to counter ground loops and electrical noise. Dual 12V to 48V DC power inputs and a relay output provide redundancy and alarm integration, all within a compact IP30 DIN-rail enclosure that fits neatly into control cabinets. If you need dependable, low-latency serial-to-Ethernet integration across two independent serial channels, MGate MB3470-G2 delivers performance, flexibility and long-term maintainability in a single, compact solution.
