The Moxa V2201 series ultra-compact x86 embedded computer is based on the Intel Atom E3800 series processor, features the most reliable I/O design to maximize connectivity, and supports dual wireless modules, making it suitable for a diverse range of communication applications. The computer’s thermal design ensures reliable system operation in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C -40°C to +70°C with a special purpose Moxa wireless module installed). The V2201 series supports “Moxa Hardware MonitOring” for device I/O status monitOring and alerts, system temperature monitOring and alerts, and system power management. MonitOring system status closely makes it easier to recover from errors and provides the most reliable platform for your applications. Impulse can supply the V2201 fully configured with your choice of storage, memory and embedded operating system direct from our UK based engineering facility. In addition, Impulse can supply a whole host of networking and communication devices to supplement the V2201 including Ethernet Switches, Wireless Access Points and Serial Device Servers. Our customer was looking for ways to improve efficiency and reliability, and reduce operation costs and overheads for their manufacturing facility. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis. The machinery to be analysed would be located in many areas of the complex, with some sitting in concrete outbuildings far from the source of the main network.
