CE is a mandatory standard for products on the market in the European Economic Area. By CE marking a product, the manufacturer ensures that the item meets the essential safety requirements set out in the applicable CE directive.
This product fully adheres to the Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive 2002/95/EC, RoHS for short.  The directive covers the restriction of use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment and was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union.
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is an independent product safety certification organisation based in the United States. UL develops standards for products, materials, components, assemblies, tool and equipment, mainly dealing with product safety.
These products use heatsink, heatpipe and extrusion technology to dissipate the heat generated by the system rather than using traditional fans thus improving system reliability and longevity.
This device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) which describes any of several standardised or ad-hoc systems which pass electrical power along with data on Ethernet cabling.
These devices and systems have been designed to accept a wide voltage DC power input. This feature is desirable in the industrial market where a fixed voltage level or mains AC power cannot be guaranteed.
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is an independent agency of the United States government that sets standards and governs the testing of conducted and radiated emissions such as EMI.
These products utilise high quality industrial grade components enabling them to work in wide temperature environments. They are capable of running as low as -20C and as high as +70C.

The ARK-2121V is a rugged and durable embedded in-vehicle PC from Advantech and is based on the Intel Atom E3800 processor series. This fanless PC comes with an option of four PoE RJ45 ports to supporting up to four 7W devices or two isolated RS-232/422/485 (jumper selectable) serial ports. As standard it comes with two Gigabit Ethernet ports and optional serial/CANbusports, a built-in GPS and G-sensor and intelligent vehicle power ignition making the ARK-2121V ideal as a NVR for intelligent transportation applications.

The ARK-2121V also supports up to 8GB of DDR3L SODIMM system memory, flexible storage options of 1x mSATA storage and 1x 2.5" HDD/SSD and has a wide 9V to 36V DC power input, a wide extended -30°C to + 60°C operating temperature range plus versatile mounting options including DIN-rail and VESA.
