The ADAM-518E-A is the orderable Ethernet version of the ADAM-518E thermocouple input module, designed for networked industrial temperature monitoring applications requiring high channel density and simple Ethernet integration. With 24 differential and independently configurable thermocouple input channels, the ADAM-518E-A allows users to monitor multiple temperature points from a single compact module, reducing the amount of hardware, wiring and cabinet space required.
This model uses a 10/100 Base-T Ethernet physical interface and supports ADAM ASCII and Modbus/TCP protocols. It is well suited to applications where temperature data needs to be passed directly to industrial PCs, SCADA systems, remote monitoring software, data loggers or Ethernet-based automation systems. Ethernet segment length is listed at 100 metres, with additional distance achievable through Ethernet switching infrastructure.
The ADAM-518E-A includes dual LAN ports, which is one of its main advantages over the RS-485 version. These ports support Ethernet daisy-chain connection, helping simplify wiring across multiple devices and reduce switch costs in cabinet or machine installations. Auto-bypass support helps maintain the network path during power loss, reducing downtime and making the module more suitable for production environments where communication continuity is important.
The module also includes built-in Graphic Condition Logic, allowing simple control logic to be executed locally on the module without requiring a separate PLC or PC. This can be useful for threshold-based temperature applications, local alarm conditions or simple decision logic close to the measurement point.
Thermocouple support includes K, J, T, E, N, R, S and B types, with wide measurement ranges and configuration through ADAM Utility. The ADAM-518E-A offers 16-bit resolution, 20 MΩ input impedance, ±0.5°C CJC sensor accuracy and a sampling rate of 10/100/160 SPS. It uses 10V to 30V DC input with 24V DC nominal power and typical consumption of 2W at 24V DC. Protection features include reverse voltage protection, watchdog support, ESD ±4kV contact and ±8kV air, EFT ±1kV, surge ±1kV and 3,000V DC isolation. With DIN-rail or wall mounting and -10°C to 70°C operation, the ADAM-518E-A is a strong Ethernet option for precise multi-point thermocouple monitoring.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
