The ADAM-6224 is an intelligent Ethernet to 4-channel analog output module from Advantech. The ADAM-6224 Ethernet remote I/O module has many distributed control capabilities including peer-to-peer communication and Graphical Condition Logic programmability. The peer-to-peer communication on the ADAM-6224 is enhanced further with the use of its dual Ethernet ports, which can auto-bypass to ensure continuous network communication if power to the ADAM-6224 fails. The ADAM-6224 supports all the popular industrial communication protocols including Modbus/TCP and UDP. Furthermore, the ADAM-6224 can be controlled through HTTP/XML requests, allowing for quick and easy prototyping. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis.
