The EATX-W890A-A10 is the orderable model listed for the EATX-W890A workstation motherboard range. It is designed for high-performance workstation, server and industrial computing systems that require Intel Xeon processor support, large memory capacity, extensive PCIe expansion and high-speed networking on an EATX form factor.

This model uses an LGA 4710-2 socket and supports Intel Xeon 600 processors for workstation, including Xeon 690 and 670 Series processors, with CPU TDP support up to 350W. It is paired with the Intel W890 chipset and supports DDR5 6400MT/s ECC R-DIMM memory. The standard configuration provides up to eight R-DIMM slots with a maximum capacity of 2TB, while the datasheet also notes a mainstream CPU BOM option using four R-DIMM slots with up to 1TB capacity.

The EATX-W890A-A10 is particularly suited to systems requiring multiple add-in cards. It provides seven PCIe Gen 5 x16 slots, although slots 2 and 6 are noted as non-functional when used with mainstream CPU SKUs. This expansion layout makes the board suitable for GPU cards, accelerator cards, high-speed capture cards, networking cards, storage controllers and other specialist workstation or industrial expansion hardware. An M.2 E-Key socket is also included for wireless or CNVi-based expansion.

Storage support includes four SATA 6Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 support, three M.2 M-Key sockets and four MCIO connectors. Two of the M.2 M-Key sockets support PCIe Gen 5 x4 and RAID 0, 1 and 10, with Intel VROC support, while another M.2 socket supports PCIe Gen 4 x4. With mainstream CPU configurations, the storage arrangement may be reduced to four SATA ports, two MCIO connectors and one M.2 M-Key socket depending on BOM.

Rear connectivity includes four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C port, two 10GbE LAN ports, two 2.5GbE LAN ports, three audio jacks and an RJ45 console port. Optional BMC support adds management LAN and VGA output via DB-15. Internal features include dual vertical USB Type-C headers, USB 3.2 Gen 1 header, CPU and system fan headers, TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, Silicon Root of Trust, BMC module socket, PMBus, IPMB, front panel connectors and onboard diagnostics LEDs.
