The EKI-9510E-2GP Series combines unmanaged PoE capability with mixed-speed M12 connectivity for railway and rolling stock applications. Each unit features eight 10/100 Mbps M12 D-coded PoE ports and two 10/100/1000 Mbps M12 X-coded ports with Bypass function, ensuring robust Ethernet connectivity with redundancy for mission-critical networks.
Supporting both IEEE 802.3af (15.4 W) and IEEE 802.3at (30 W) standards, the PoE ports provide a total budget of up to 120 W (GPH model) or 60 W (GPL model) for powering IP cameras, wireless access points, and VoIP phones. The Bypass function on the Gigabit ports improves network resilience by maintaining link continuity even during power interruptions.
Built with an IP40 aluminium housing and EN50155/EN50121-3-2 railway certification, the switches are hardened against vibration, shock, EMC disturbances, and voltage variations. Power flexibility is offered with dual input design: the GPH model supports 72/96/110 VDC while the GPL model supports 24/48 VDC. Both provide overload current and reverse polarity protection for safe, reliable operation.
The EKI-9510E-2GP operates in harsh conditions with a temperature range of -40 to 70 °C, up to 95% relative humidity, and resistance to shock and vibration per IEC 61373 standards. With 8K MAC address table support and jumbo frame handling up to 9 KB, the switch ensures high-performance packet forwarding for industrial networks.
Compact yet powerful, the EKI-9510E-2GP Series delivers space-saving design, dependable Gigabit throughput, and PoE functionality tailored to the needs of railway operators and transport infrastructure.

Spurious error messages, especially those from rolling-stock subsystems, can be difficult and time consuming to diagnose. Siemens Rail, in Manchester, wished to install a data logging system onto their rolling stock to transmit data in real-time back to their depot for efficient data analysis by their team.
