The Aaeon GENE-TWL6 is a 3.5-inch subcompact board for embedded and industrial systems that need strong connectivity, flexible display support and a compact footprint. Built around Intel Processor N-series and Intel Core Processor N-series SoC options, the board supports either the Intel Processor N150 or Intel Core 3 N355, giving system builders a choice between efficient low-power computing and a higher-performance embedded platform. It supports up to 16GB of DDR5 4800 memory, uses a wide 9 to 36V DC input, and is specified for operation from -20 to 70°C, making it suitable for demanding cabinet, machine and edge deployments.
The GENE-TWL6 is particularly useful where networking is a key part of the design. With three Intel I226 2.5GbE LAN ports, it can support gateway, router, network appliance and industrial communication roles without needing an additional NIC. Display support is also broad, with HDMI, VGA and LVDS on the listed 0001 and 0003 variants, plus support for up to three simultaneous displays. This makes the board a strong fit for industrial HMIs, control panels, kiosks, digital signage controllers and multi-screen monitoring systems.
For industrial integration, the board includes two RS-232/422/485 ports, two RS-232 ports, USB 3.2 Gen 2, USB 2.0, SATA, 8-bit GPIO, SMBus or I2C, audio, a smart fan header and front panel connections. Expansion is provided through full-size mPCIe or mSATA, M.2 2230 E-Key and M.2 3052 B-Key slots, with nano SIM support for communications-focused builds. Typical use cases include edge gateways, compact automation controllers, factory data collection, remote monitoring systems, machine interfaces, networked control equipment and embedded systems requiring multiple LAN ports in a small 3.5-inch form factor.

Wireless Solution Saves Time and Reduces Overheads for OT Machinery Monitoring Project
Our customer was looking for ways to improve efficiency and reliability, and reduce operation costs and overheads for their manufacturing facility. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis. The machinery to be analysed would be located in many areas of the complex, with some sitting in concrete outbuildings far from the source of the main network.
