The Cisco IR1101 modular industrial integrated services cellular router offers a flexible, scalable and secure networking solution that can form part of a unified network solution or a standalone autonomous device.

Connecting up to four local ethernet devices to wireless networks the IR1101 can serve as both an access point or a client. The IR1101 is modular in two ways, firstly it's compatible with expansion modules allowing for the addition of a second cellular module, some mSATA storage and some digital I/O, secondly, the IR1101 has a modular cellular design where you can upgrade the cellular module to meet the demands of the market giving you a chance to have one solution suitable across many sites around the world with the change of the cellular module this will include when available the 5G models allowing you to add comprehensive speed increase and reduced latency to your IoT network. 

Moreover, the IR1101 has primarily been designed for hostile environments and can withstand severe environmental conditions, such as extreme temperatures with an extended wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C or places where high vibrations and shocks are commonplace.
