The MDS-G4020-L3-4XGS-T is the wide-temperature version of the modular Layer 3 switch, operating reliably from -40 to 75°C. Designed for large-scale industrial and substation networks, it combines advanced routing with 10G uplink capacity and rugged modular construction.
It supports 16x Gigabit interfaces via LM-7000H expansion modules and 4x embedded 10G SFP+ uplinks. Dual hot-swappable LV (24/48 VDC) or HV (110/220 VAC/VDC) power modules provide redundant supply options.In addition to Layer 2 functionality, it offers advanced Layer 3 routing, including static/dynamic routing, inter-VLAN routing, and multicast routing, enabling efficient traffic segmentation and backbone design.
Network resiliency is ensured with PRP and HSR, as specified in IEC 62439-3, as well as with Turbo Ring/Chain, RSTP, and MSTP. IEEE 1588 PTP, combined with IEC 61850-9-3 and IEEE C37.238 profiles, ensures precise time synchronisation for protection and control applications. MMS/IEC 61850-90-4 support and an HTML5-based interface simplify SCADA integration and ongoing management.
With its extended temperature range, modularity, and advanced routing capabilities, the MDS-G4020-L3-4XGS-T is a resilient backbone switch designed for substations, smart grids, and harsh industrial deployments that require both Layer 2 and Layer 3 performance.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
