The TN-5508A Series is a family of EN 50155-compliant, managed Fast Ethernet switches designed for railway environments where secure, vibration-resistant networking is crucial. Each unit includes 8x M12 D-coded Fast Ethernet ports, housed in a robust IP54 enclosure suitable for rolling stock and wayside installations.
Powered by dual isolated 24–110 VDC redundant inputs, the switch provides resilience against power feed interruptions. It operates across a temperature range of -40 to 75°C, certified to EN 50155, EN 50121-4, IEC 60571, IEC 61373, and EN 45545-2 fire safety standards. Conformal-coated models add protection against moisture and corrosion, extending reliability in harsh environments.
High availability is ensured with Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (<20 ms recovery at 250 switches), supported by RSTP and MSTP for multi-vendor integration. Industrial protocols such as EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and Modbus TCP allow seamless integration with signalling and control systems.
Cybersecurity and management include IEEE 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, SNMPv3, SSH, HTTPS, ACLs, and bandwidth management. Traffic optimisation features include VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, and LACP.
With its wide range of certifications, redundant power design, and resilient redundancy, the TN-5508A Series provides reliable and secure Fast Ethernet connectivity for rolling stock and rail infrastructure.
