The AIMB-228 from Advantech is a Mini-ITX computer board that features an AMD V1000B/R1000G series processor which combines AMD Ryzen CPU architecture with AMD Vega GPU into a single SoC offering up to 3.61 TFlops compute at a MAX TDP of 54W the AIMB-228 is an ideal motherboard for a wide range of applications. The AIMB-228 has a feature-rich I/O with 4x RS-232 and 2x RS-232/422/482, 16-bit GPIO, up to four DIsplay ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet, 2x USB3.0 and 4x USB2.0 and 1x PCIe expansion slot. Furthermore, the AIMB-228 supports up to 32GB DDR4 SO-DIMM memory and 2x SATAIII ports for storage. Impulse can supply the AIMB-228 fully configured and tested in our UK based engineering facility with your choice of processor, memory, storage, operating system and additional I/O boards. We can also design and assemble a complete system solution using the AIMB-228 computer board along with a chassis and components to your exact specification. Our customer was looking for ways to improve efficiency and reliability, and reduce operation costs and overheads for their manufacturing facility. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis. The machinery to be analysed would be located in many areas of the complex, with some sitting in concrete outbuildings far from the source of the main network.
