The EATX-W890A is a workstation-class EATX motherboard designed for high-performance server, workstation, industrial computing and expansion-heavy embedded applications. Built around the Intel W890 chipset, the board supports Intel Xeon 600 processors for workstation in Socket E2, LGA 4710-2, including Xeon 690 and 670 Series processors with TDP support up to 350W. This makes it a strong platform for demanding workloads such as AI development, simulation, machine vision, data processing, industrial workstations, engineering systems and GPU-accelerated compute platforms.
Memory support is one of the main strengths of the EATX-W890A. The board supports DDR5 6400MT/s ECC R-DIMM memory across up to eight DIMM slots, with a maximum capacity of 2TB. The datasheet also notes that with mainstream CPU configurations, memory support may be available as a BOM option with four DDR5 slots and up to 1TB capacity. This gives system builders flexibility depending on the chosen CPU and final performance requirement.
Expansion is extensive, with up to seven PCIe Gen 5 x16 slots for graphics, accelerator, storage, networking, data acquisition or specialist add-in cards. The datasheet notes that PCIe slots 2 and 6 are non-functional when used with mainstream CPU SKUs. Storage options include four SATA 6Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 support, three M.2 M-Key sockets, four MCIO connectors and Intel VROC support on selected M.2 configurations.
Networking includes two 10GbE LAN ports, two 2.5GbE LAN ports and optional BMC management LAN. Rear I/O includes four USB 3.2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Type-C port, audio jacks, RJ45 console and LAN connectivity. Internal I/O includes two vertical USB 3.2 Type-C connectors, USB 3.2 Gen 1 header, fan headers, front panel connectors, PMBus, IPMB, BMC module socket and VROC key header. With onboard TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, Silicon Root of Trust, optional BMC remote management and 0°C to 60°C operation, the EATX-W890A is a powerful foundation for modern workstation and industrial server builds.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
