The EDS-405A-EIP Series delivers compact, entry-level managed Layer 2 switching with EtherNet/IP enabled out of the box for rapid integration with PLCs, drives and FactoryTalk environments. Each unit provides five 10/100Base-T(X) copper ports for reliable connectivity to HMIs, I/O and controllers. Built-in Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain deliver sub-20 ms recovery (at up to 250 switches), while standards-based RSTP/STP and ring coupling provide flexible redundancy across mixed vendor networks.
Traffic is easy to shape and segment with IGMP snooping for multicast optimisation, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN and port-based VLAN, QoS (IEEE 802.1p and ToS/DiffServ), bandwidth management and port mirroring for online diagnostics. Interoperability spans EtherNet/IP (enabled by default) and Modbus TCP, with support resources including an EDS file, custom AOI and FactoryTalk View faceplate to streamline commissioning.
Engineers can manage locally or at scale using the web GUI, CLI, Telnet or serial console, Windows utility, and ABC-01 for fast device cloning. Industrial design features include dual 12/24/48 VDC power inputs (9.6–60 VDC operating range) with reverse polarity and overload protection, alarm relay output and DI, metal IP30 housing and DIN-rail or wall mounting. Models are available for standard and extended temperature ranges, ensuring dependable operation in control cabinets and harsher environments alike.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
