The EDS-G512E is a full-gigabit managed Ethernet switch designed for industrial backbone networks that require high bandwidth and redundancy. It provides 12 gigabit ports in total, including 8 10/100/1000BaseT(X) RJ45 interfaces and 4 100/1000Base SFP slots for fibre uplinks.
Built for reliability, the switch supports Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain technologies, delivering recovery in under 50 ms across 250 devices, alongside RSTP/STP/MSTP for standards-based redundancy. Security features are based on IEC 62443 and include IEEE 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, HTTPS, SSH, ACLs, sticky MAC, and SNMPv3, ensuring network resilience against unauthorised access.
Traffic optimisation is supported with VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, and LACP port trunking, while industrial protocol integration includes EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and Modbus TCP. The switch also offers V-ON™ for millisecond-level multicast recovery, making it suitable for video and control traffic.
Certified to EN 50121-4 railway, IEC 61850-3, and IEEE 1613 for substations, NEMA TS2 for traffic control, and maritime standards (DNV, GL, LR, ABS, NK), as well as ATEX and Class I Div. 2 hazardous locations, the EDS-G512E is built for mission-critical industrial systems.
With dual 12/24/48 VDC redundant power inputs, DIN-rail or wall-mounting capabilities, and an operating temperature range of -10 to 60 °C, it is an adaptable solution for ITS, DCS, substation automation, and process monitoring networks.
