The EKI-2541MI is an industrial grade media converter designed to convert an copper TX Ethernet network to a multi-mode SC type fibre optic network. The advantage to fibre optics is wider bandwidth, added EMI immunity, and extended distance transmission. Therefore the EKI-2541MI is an ideal solution for “fibre-to-the-building” applications in central offices and remote sites. The EKI-2541MI supports MDI/MDIX auto detection, meaning you no longer have to use crossover wires. Furthermore, the EKI-2541MI can operate in a wide -40°C to +75°C environment and can accept an extended 12V to 48V DC input. In addition, the EKI-2541MI is designed with 3,000V DC surge (EFT) protection against over-voltage, meaning the media converter is ideal for the harsh industrial environment.
