The Cisco IE-3505-8T3S-A is an advanced modular industrial Ethernet switch combining eight Gigabit copper ports, three fibre uplinks and high-availability industrial networking capabilities with the extended feature set of Cisco Network Advantage.
Eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 interfaces provide connectivity for industrial controllers, computers, automation equipment and other Ethernet devices, while three 100 Mbps/1GbE SFP ports provide fibre uplinks for longer-distance or electrically isolated network connections.
The IE3505 platform is designed for applications requiring greater resilience than conventional industrial switching architectures. It supports High-Availability Seamless Redundancy and Parallel Redundancy Protocol, which are intended to provide uninterrupted communications through redundant network paths. Device Level Ring is also supported, alongside Media Redundancy Protocol and Cisco Resilient Ethernet Protocol.
Compatible expansion modules allow the 11-port base switch to be increased to as many as 27 ports. Modules are available for additional copper, fibre, PoE and mixed-media connectivity, allowing the system to be configured around the physical requirements of the installation.
Network Advantage incorporates the full Network Essentials feature set while adding advanced routing and segmentation capabilities. Supported functionality includes BGP, ISIS, EIGRP, HSRP, VRF-lite, multicast routing and Layer 3 NAT. Cisco TrustSec provides identity-based segmentation, while MACsec-256 supports stronger Ethernet link protection.
Industrial communication features include EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol. IEEE 802.1Qbu and 802.3br frame pre-emption helps reduce latency and jitter for time-sensitive control traffic.
Security features include Secure Boot, IEEE 802.1X, DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, IP Source Guard, RADIUS, TACACS+, SSH, SNMPv3 and Full Flexible NetFlow. Qualifying Network Advantage purchases also include the Cyber Vision and Secure Equipment Access entitlement described in Cisco's datasheet.
The IE-3505-8T3S-A supports nominal 12 to 48 VDC input through dual DC power connections. Its fanless IP30 DIN-rail chassis measures approximately 88.4 x 152.4 x 134.4 mm and weighs 1.79 kg.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
