The Cisco IE-3505-8T3S-E is an advanced modular industrial Ethernet switch designed for applications requiring reliable Gigabit connectivity and enhanced network redundancy. It provides eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 copper ports and three 100 Mbps/1GbE SFP uplinks, creating an 11-port base platform suitable for factory automation, transport, energy and other Operational Technology networks.
A key distinction of the IE3505 platform is its support for advanced industrial redundancy technologies. High-Availability Seamless Redundancy and Parallel Redundancy Protocol are designed to provide lossless network redundancy, while Device Level Ring supports resilient ring-based industrial architectures. These capabilities complement Media Redundancy Protocol, Resilient Ethernet Protocol and standard spanning-tree technologies.
The modular architecture allows compatible IE3500 expansion modules to increase system capacity from 11 ports to as many as 27. Expansion options include additional Gigabit copper interfaces, SFP fibre, mixed copper/fibre configurations and other compatible modules, allowing the switch to be adapted as network requirements change.
The Network Essentials licence provides Layer 2 switching together with Layer 3 functionality including inter-VLAN routing, static routing, OSPF, OSPFv3, RIP and policy-based routing. Industrial protocol support includes EtherNet/IP, PROFINET and IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol. IEEE 802.1Qbu and IEEE 802.3br frame pre-emption can help reduce delay for time-sensitive industrial traffic.
Security functionality includes Secure Boot using Cisco's hardware-anchored root of trust, IEEE 802.1X, DHCP snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection, IP Source Guard, RADIUS, TACACS+, SSH, SNMPv3, access control lists and MACsec-128. Full Flexible NetFlow supports additional network traffic visibility.
The IE-3505-8T3S-E uses dual DC power inputs with a nominal 12 to 48 VDC range and a 9.6 to 60 VDC absolute operating range. It has a fanless IP30 enclosure measuring approximately 88.4 x 152.4 x 134.4 mm, weighs 1.79 kg and has a stated MTBF of 496,476 hours.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
