The ioPAC 6500 Series 65M Communication Modules are designed for use with modular ioPAC 6500 Intelligent Integrated Node controller systems, providing managed Ethernet connectivity for industrial automation, remote monitoring, utility, transport and infrastructure applications. As part of the wider ioPAC 6500 modular platform, these communication modules help connect field devices, SCADA systems, plant information systems and cloud applications through a flexible, serviceable controller architecture.
The series supports a fully modular design, allowing communication modules to be combined with backplane, power, CPU, expansion, I/O and terminal block modules. This Lego-like mechanical structure helps simplify deployment and gives system integrators flexibility when designing RTU and controller systems for specific site requirements. Tool-free hardware installation and hot-swap support also help improve maintenance efficiency, reducing the time required to replace or service modules in the field.
Network redundancy is a major feature of the 65M Communication Module range. The datasheet highlights support for Turbo Ring, Turbo Chain, STP and RSTP, helping improve network availability in industrial Ethernet environments. Additional redundancy and switching functions include ring coupling, dual homing and link aggregation. These features make the modules suitable for applications where communication reliability is critical and downtime needs to be minimised.
The communication module platform includes eight 10/100/1000BaseT(X) RJ45 ports and two 100/1000Base SFP slots, giving users a combination of copper Ethernet and fibre expansion. SFP modules are listed as accessories and should be selected separately depending on the required fibre type, connector, distance and temperature range. Software features include VLAN, IGMP snooping, DHCP, SNMP, RMON, Syslog, port mirroring, QoS, HTTPS, SSH, RADIUS, TACACS+ and login/password policy support. With conformal coating, DIN-rail or optional rack mounting, 9.216 KB jumbo frames, -40°C to 75°C operation with suitable airflow above 65°C, and a 5-year warranty period listed in the datasheet, the ioPAC 6500 65M Communication Modules provide a robust networking layer for modular industrial controller systems.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
