The MDS-G4020-4XGS is a modular managed Ethernet switch offering a total of 20 ports, including 16 Gigabit interfaces and 4 embedded 10G SFP+ uplinks. Certified to IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613, it is engineered for substation automation, utilities, and demanding industrial networks that require high bandwidth and a flexible design.
Expansion slots support LM-7000H modules for copper or fibre connectivity, allowing operators to customise the switch for edge access or backbone aggregation. Dual power slots support hot-swappable LV (24/48 VDC) or HV (110/220 VAC/VDC) modules, allowing for resilient, redundant configurations.
The passive backplane design and tool-free, hot-swappable modules reduce downtime and simplify maintenance. A rugged die-cast chassis supports compact installation in space-restricted cabinets or field sites.
Resiliency features include PRP and HSR (IEC 62439-3), Turbo Ring/Chain, RSTP, and MSTP. Hardware-based IEEE 1588 PTP with IEC 61850-9-3 and IEEE C37.238 profiles ensures precise synchronisation for substation protection and control systems. MMS/IEC 61850-90-4 data modelling and an HTML5-based interface enable seamless SCADA integration and intuitive management.
With 16x Gigabit ports, 10G uplink capacity, and modular flexibility, the MDS-G4020-4XGS provides a resilient, scalable platform for high-performance industrial and substation Ethernet networks.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
