The PICO319PGGA-E3940 is the standard configuration of Axiomtek’s PICO319 Pico-ITX SBC, supplied without a heatsink for projects that already have a defined thermal strategy. It is an excellent choice for sealed enclosures with integrated heat spreading, chassis-mounted conduction cooling, or designs where airflow and thermal interface materials are engineered at system level. Using the Intel Atom x5-E3940 processor, it provides efficient compute for edge control, industrial communications and embedded HMI tasks while keeping power requirements modest on a 12 V DC supply.
For industrial networking and device management, this model includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports using Intel I210-AT controllers, enabling features such as Wake-on-LAN and PXE boot for remote recovery and streamlined provisioning. Connectivity is equally strong for mixed legacy and modern equipment: you get two USB 3.0 ports for high-speed peripherals, two USB 2.0 ports for common field devices, and two serial ports including an RS-232/422/485 interface for PLCs, drives, meters and serial sensors. A 4-channel digital I/O block supports basic machine interfacing, alarms, triggers and status monitoring.
Storage and expansion are highly flexible for compact systems. The board supports an M.2 Key B slot (2242/3042) with optional interfaces (SATA, USB 2.0, USB 3.0, PCIe x2 depending on configuration) and a half-size Mini Card slot with mSATA support, making it easy to tailor wireless, cellular, storage or specialist I/O to the application. Visual output is ready for embedded display builds, combining DisplayPort++ with LVDS (18/24-bit, single/dual channel) to suit panel PCs, control terminals and dual-display service layouts. With DDR3L memory up to 8 GB and wide temperature capability, the PICO319PGGA-E3940 is a dependable foundation for long-life embedded platforms where thermal integration is handled by the system designer.
