The Moxa RKS-G4028-PL Series is a range of modular Layer 2 managed Ethernet switches designed for high-capacity industrial networks. Each model provides twelve fixed 1000/2500/10000BaseSFP ports for fibre backbone connections and two expansion slots for adding up to sixteen further Gigabit Ethernet ports. With both expansion slots populated, the switch can support a total of 28 ports within a compact 1U rackmount enclosure.
The modular architecture allows the port configuration to be selected around the requirements of the installation. Available RM-G4000-PL modules provide eight copper Gigabit Ethernet ports, eight configurable SFP ports or eight IEEE 802.3bt PoE ports. The PoE modules can only be used with the RKS-G4028-PL-PoE model. Power is also modular, with PWR-310 options for low-voltage DC, high-voltage AC/DC and AC-only supplies. Dual isolated power modules can be installed for redundancy, while front or rear power-module installation supports different cabinet and cable-routing arrangements.
Hardware-based IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol supports accurate network synchronisation. Available power profiles include IEC 61850-9-3-2016 and IEEE C37.238-2017. The switches also include GOOSE Check and a built-in MMS server based on IEC 61850-90-4 switch data modelling for power utility networks.
Network resilience is supported through Turbo Ring, Turbo Chain, MRP, STP, RSTP and MSTP. Security and access-control features include IEEE 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, SSH, HTTPS, SNMPv3, secure boot, DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection and IEEE 802.1AE MAC security. The series is certified to IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2.
The RKS-G4028-PL Series operates from -40 to 75°C and complies with IEC 61850-3 Edition 2.0, IEEE 1613 Class 2, EN 50121-4 and NEMA TS2. An out-of-band management port helps preserve administrative access if normal in-band communications become unavailable. USB and microSD interfaces also support compatible configuration backup, firmware and log-storage accessories.
Power modules, Ethernet expansion modules, SFP transceivers and any external PoE power supply must be selected separately.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
