The Moxa RKS-G4030-PL-8QGT-6XGS-T is a modular Layer 2 managed Ethernet switch for high-capacity industrial, power utility, railway and transport networks. Its fixed interfaces include six 1000/2500/10000BaseSFP ports and eight 10/100/1000/2500BaseT(X) RJ45 ports, providing a combination of 10GbE fibre uplinks and multigigabit copper connectivity.
Two expansion slots allow up to 16 additional Gigabit Ethernet ports to be installed. Engineers can select RM-G4000-PL-8GTX modules for copper connections or RM-G4000-PL-8GSFP modules for configurable fibre interfaces. With both module slots populated, the switch supports a maximum of 30 ports. This model does not support the PoE function of the RM-G4000-PL-8GPoE module.
The RKS-G4030-PL-8QGT-6XGS-T supports hardware-based IEEE 1588v2 Precision Time Protocol for applications requiring accurate network time synchronisation. Supported profiles include IEEE 1588 Default 2008, IEC 61850-9-3-2016 and IEEE C37.238-2017. GOOSE Check and a built-in MMS server based on IEC 61850-90-4 switch data modelling provide additional functionality for power substation networks.
Redundancy features include Turbo Ring, Turbo Chain, MRP, RSTP, STP and MSTP. Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain can provide recovery times below 20 ms across networks of up to 250 switches, although recovery time is below 50 ms when the link speed is 1 Gigabit or higher. Link aggregation is also supported for improved bandwidth utilisation and connection resilience.
Security functions include IEEE 802.1X authentication, TACACS+, RADIUS, HTTPS, SSH, SNMPv3, secure boot, access control lists, DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP Inspection and IEEE 802.1AE MAC security. The switch is certified to IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2.
The unit complies with IEC 61850-3 Edition 2.0, IEC 61850-90-4, IEEE 1613 Class 2, EN 50121-4 and NEMA TS2. It operates from -40 to 75°C and is housed in an IP40-rated 1U enclosure measuring 440 x 44 x 387 mm. Its stated weight is 5.44 kg, and its MTBF is 1,642,225 hours according to the Telcordia standard.
Compatible PWR-310 power modules, RM-G4000-PL expansion modules and SFP transceivers must be selected separately, allowing the switch to be configured around the required supply voltage, fibre links and copper port count.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
