The Moxa RM-G4000-PL-8GSFP is an eight-port Gigabit fibre module designed for use with RKS-G4000-PL modular managed Ethernet switches. It provides eight 100/1000BaseSFP slots, allowing the switch to be configured with fibre interfaces selected to suit the required media type, transmission distance and operating conditions.
Using replaceable SFP transceivers gives engineers greater flexibility than a fixed fibre-port configuration. Suitable Moxa SFP modules are available for multimode, single-mode and bidirectional fibre connections, with transmission distances ranging from short local links to long-distance network connections. Industrial wide-temperature SFP options are also available separately for installations exposed to demanding environmental conditions.
The RM-G4000-PL-8GSFP supports full-duplex Ethernet communication. Half-duplex operation is not supported. It is hot-swappable, helping simplify module installation, replacement or network reconfiguration within a compatible RKS-G4000-PL switch. The ability to exchange modules without replacing the complete switch platform also supports long-term maintenance and future changes to network topology.
Designed for operation from -40 to 75°C, the module is suitable for industrial and power utility environments where conventional commercial networking equipment may not be appropriate. It complies with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613, supporting its use as part of Ethernet networks serving electrical substations and related utility infrastructure.
The RM-G4000-PL-8GSFP has a maximum specified power consumption of 10.42 W and weighs 505 g. Its stated MTBF is 5,828,713 hours according to the Telcordia (Bellcore), GB standard. The product is supplied as one RM-G4000-PL Series module with a warranty card and is covered by Moxa’s five-year warranty.
This module is appropriate where a compatible RKS-G4000-PL switch requires up to eight fibre connections. The required SFP transceivers are sold separately and should be selected according to the fibre specification, link distance and temperature requirements of the installation.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
