The Moxa RM-G4000-PL-8GTX is an eight-port copper Gigabit Ethernet module for RKS-G4000-PL modular managed switches. It adds eight 10/100/1000BaseT(X) RJ45 interfaces to the host switch, providing straightforward connectivity for industrial computers, controllers, remote I/O, protection equipment and other Ethernet-enabled devices.
Support for 10, 100 and 1000 Mbps Ethernet allows the module to accommodate equipment operating at different network speeds. This can be useful in installations where newer Gigabit devices must be connected alongside established Fast Ethernet equipment. The module supports full-duplex communication only and does not support half-duplex operation.
The RM-G4000-PL-8GTX is hot-swappable, allowing the module to be installed or replaced as part of a compatible RKS-G4000-PL switch configuration. Its modular design also allows copper port capacity to be combined with RM-G4000-PL fibre or PoE modules, creating a switch configuration suited to the connection requirements of the application.
An operating temperature range of -40 to 75°C supports deployment in industrial environments exposed to substantial temperature variation. The module is compliant with IEC 61850-3 and IEEE 1613, making it suitable for integration into communications networks used in electrical substations and other power utility applications.
The RM-G4000-PL-8GTX has a maximum specified power consumption of 6.05 W and weighs 438 g. Its stated MTBF is 11,847,571 hours according to the Telcordia (Bellcore), GB standard. The package contains one RM-G4000-PL Series module and one warranty card, and the product is covered by Moxa’s five-year warranty.
The RM-G4000-PL-8GTX is the appropriate module where a compatible RKS-G4000-PL switch requires eight standard copper Ethernet connections without PoE. Applications needing fibre connectivity can use the RM-G4000-PL-8GSFP, while the RM-G4000-PL-8GPoE provides RJ45 connectivity with power delivery for compatible powered devices.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
