The UC-8630A-T is a rugged Arm-based industrial computer designed for edge applications that require rich wired connectivity, secure operation and flexible wireless expansion. Based on an Arm Cortex-A72 dual-core 1.5 GHz 64-bit processor, it is suited to embedded data acquisition, remote monitoring, industrial gateways, infrastructure systems and field applications where dependable communication is essential.
The UC-8630A-T provides a strong mix of industrial I/O in a compact box computer format. It includes four auto-sensing 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports, eight software-selectable RS-232/422/485 serial ports, two CAN 2.0A/CAN 2.0B ports, four digital inputs and four digital outputs. This allows the system to interface with PLCs, meters, sensors, controllers, serial equipment and CAN-based devices from one platform. The rear I/O layout shown in the datasheet highlights the dedicated CAN, DI/DO, USB, antenna and serial connections, making it clear that the unit is designed for dense industrial connectivity in a compact enclosure.
Compared with the UC-8620A-T, the UC-8630A-T adds broader wireless expansion capability. It includes an mPCIe slot reserved for LTE and an M.2 E key socket reserved for Wi-Fi 6, making it suitable for connected industrial deployments where both cellular and wireless LAN options may be required. The unit also includes two USB 3.0 host ports, dual SIM support, GPS antenna connectivity, 32 GB eMMC storage, a microSD socket and an M.2 M key 2242 PCIe socket for SSD expansion.
Security and long-term maintainability are central to the platform. The UC-8630A-T runs Moxa Industrial Linux 4, with long-term support through to 2033, and includes TPM 2.0, secure boot, host-based intrusion detection, security event auditing, secure update, LUKS disk encryption and system recovery functions. It supports 12 to 48 VDC input, consumes around 17 W and operates from -40°C to 70°C without accessories. With a metal IP30 enclosure, wall mounting as standard and optional DIN-rail mounting, the UC-8630A-T is a strong choice for secure, wireless-ready industrial edge applications.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
