The EDS-510A-3SFP equips three 1G SFP slots alongside seven 10/100 copper ports, giving you fibre flexibility (SX/LX/LHX/ZX or BiDi per SFP choice) for ring and uplink design. It’s ideal for plants and transport corridors that need fibre backbones plus copper access at the edge.
Resiliency features include Turbo Ring/Turbo Chain (<20 ms) and STP/RSTP/MSTP, ensuring rapid recovery from link failures. Performance is tuned via VLAN, QoS, IGMP snooping/GMRP, LACP, bandwidth control, RMON, and LLDP. Protocol integration covers EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP, while SNMPv1/v2c/v3, syslog, and MXstudio simplify operations and diagnostics.
Security is comprehensive with 802.1X, HTTPS/SSH, RADIUS, TACACS+, and Lock Port. Hardware features include dual 24 VDC inputs (12–45 VDC), reverse polarity/over-current protection, 2x DI, and alarm relay. The IP30 metal housing supports DIN-rail or wall mounting, operating from -10 to +60 °C with IEC shock/vibration testing and approvals covering ATEX/CID2, EN 50121-4, and NEMA TS2.
Choose from Moxa’s SFP portfolio (SX 300/550 m, LX 10 km, LH/LHX 30–40 km, ZX 80–120 km, EZX 110–120 km, or BiDi 10–40 km) to tailor distance and wavelength. The EDS-510A-3SFP is a flexible, secure fibre-centric switch for scalable industrial Gigabit rings.

10 Port Managed Industrial Ethernet Switch 7x Fast Ethernet 3x Gigabit SFP Ports Wide Temperature Operation
Our customer was looking for ways to improve efficiency and reliability, and reduce operation costs and overheads for their manufacturing facility. The initial step in this transformation was to add additional monitoring and measurements to several areas of their facility to allow the collection of usage data from older machinery for analysis. The machinery to be analysed would be located in many areas of the complex, with some sitting in concrete outbuildings far from the source of the main network.
