The IMC-P21A-G2-S-SC is an industrial PoE+ Fast Ethernet-to-fibre media converter designed for longer-distance fibre links using single-mode SC connectivity. It provides a compact and reliable way to connect a 10/100BaseT(X) Ethernet powered device to a 100Base-FX fibre network, making it suitable for industrial networks where distance, EMI immunity and stable communication are important.
This model includes one RJ45 PoE port for 10/100BaseT(X) Ethernet and one 100Base-FX single-mode SC fibre port. The PoE interface supports IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at, allowing compatible powered devices to receive power and data through the same copper Ethernet connection. Standard PoE+ output supports up to 30W, while high-power output up to 36W is available for more demanding devices. This makes the converter suitable for outdoor IP cameras, wireless access points, industrial monitoring devices and other powered Ethernet equipment deployed away from local power sources.
The key difference between the IMC-P21A-G2-S-SC and the multi-mode variants is its single-mode fibre interface. The datasheet lists a typical distance of up to 40 km using 9/125 µm OS2 fibre, making this model the better choice for longer fibre runs between field equipment and control centres. The datasheet also notes that OS1 cable can be used for single-mode models, but OS2 cable is required to achieve the full 40 km transmission distance. It also recommends using an attenuator when connecting a single-mode fibre transceiver to help prevent damage caused by excessive optical power.
The IMC-P21A-G2-S-SC supports store-and-forward mode, pass-through mode, PoE diagnostics and Link Fault Pass-through, helping users build and maintain more transparent industrial fibre links. The Ethernet side includes 10/100M auto-negotiation, auto-MDI/MDI-X and 1.5 kV magnetic isolation protection. With redundant dual DC power inputs from 44 to 57 VDC, overload current protection, compact metal housing, DIN-rail mounting and -10°C to 60°C operation, the IMC-P21A-G2-S-SC is well suited to long-distance PoE+ fibre conversion in industrial Ethernet networks.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
