The Advantech MIC-78 i-Module Series is a flexible expansion ecosystem built for MIC-78 Series modular IPCs, helping you scale I/O, storage, and add-on card capability without redesigning the core system. Designed for industrial edge deployments, these expansion modules support both PCIe and PCI add-on cards and deliver PCIe speeds up to Gen5 for high-bandwidth applications such as frame grabbers, motion control, and accelerator cards.
To support higher power cards, MIC-78 i-Modules include an additional 12VDC power source via an onboard connector and support up to 85W add-on card power consumption, beyond what the PCIe/PCI slot alone can provide. Thermal control is addressed with optional system fans and an intelligent Smart Fan capability, helping to manage heat generated by expansion cards and improve stability in 24/7 operation.
Storage expansion is also a core advantage. Depending on the i-Module chosen, you can add support for 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch HDD/SSD bays, including configurations that support up to 2x 2.5-inch swappable drives for service-friendly maintenance and data handling at the edge.
With 1-slot, 2-slot, and 4-slot options available across the range, the MIC-78 i-Module Series provides a clear upgrade path for expanding PCIe/PCI connectivity, storage capacity, and thermal headroom while staying aligned to the MIC-780 platform.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
