The Advantech PPC-421W-PD5A is a 21.5-inch fanless industrial panel PC featuring the 13th Generation Intel Core i5-1345URE processor. Positioned between the Core i3 and Core i7 versions of the PPC-421W platform, the PD5A provides a balanced combination of processor performance, industrial connectivity and expansion for HMI, machine control, factory automation and production visualisation applications. The Intel Core i5-1345URE incorporates ten processor cores, operates from a 1.40GHz base frequency and can reach up to 4.6GHz with Turbo, supported by 12MB Intel Smart Cache.
Operator interaction is provided through a large 21.5-inch Full HD TFT display with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080. The screen provides 350cd/m² luminance, wide viewing angles and a projected capacitive multi-touch interface. Its true-flat design and anti-glare coating make it suited to industrial HMI applications, while an IP66-compliant front panel helps protect the unit against dust and water ingress when correctly mounted. The system uses a die-cast aluminium alloy front bezel and supports both panel mounting and VESA 75/100 mounting.
Two DDR5 4800 SODIMM sockets support up to 32GB per slot, allowing the PPC-421W-PD5A to be configured with up to 64GB of system memory. Storage support includes two 2.5-inch SATA bays and an M.2 2242/2280 M-Key interface compatible with SATA or NVMe PCIe x4 storage. This provides considerable flexibility for applications requiring multiple local drives or a combination of SATA and high-speed M.2 storage.
For industrial networking, the system incorporates two Intel I226LM Ethernet controllers supporting speeds up to 2.5GbE and Time-Sensitive Networking technology. I/O includes three USB 3.2 ports, USB 2.0, HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.4a and serial connectivity. An isolated RS-422/485 port supports industrial devices, while optional additional serial or GPIO interfaces can further extend the system.
PCIe x4 expansion enables fieldbus or proprietary interface cards to be incorporated, with PCI available as an optional configuration. The PPC-421W-PD5A also includes TPM 2.0 hardware security, an M.2 E-Key wireless expansion slot, a wide 9-32VDC input and a -20°C to +60°C operating temperature range. The ordering information identifies the PD5A specifically as the Core i5-1345URE version of the PPC-421W.

RMA
In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
