The TN-5516A is a robust EN 50155-compliant managed Ethernet switch offering 16x Fast Ethernet M12 D-coded ports for reliable networking in railway and rolling stock applications. With its compact IP54-rated housing and vibration-proof M12 connectors, the switch is engineered to withstand constant shock, vibration, and electrical noise in harsh onboard environments.
Dual isolated 24–110 VDC power inputs provide redundancy against supply interruptions, ensuring consistent service across global railway networks. Optional conformal-coated versions are available for extra PCB protection against humidity and corrosive exposure. Operating reliably from -40 to 75°C, the TN-5516A is certified to EN 50155, EN 50121-4, IEC 60571, IEC 61373, and EN 45545-2 fire safety standards.
Network resilience is supported by Moxa’s Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain, which provide recovery times under 20 ms for up to 250 switches, in addition to RSTP and MSTP for standards-based redundancy. Cybersecurity features include IEEE 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, HTTPS, SSH, ACLs, and SNMPv3, providing secure access control and encrypted management.
Advanced Layer 2 functionality includes VLAN segmentation, QoS traffic prioritisation, IGMP snooping, and LACP aggregation, ensuring predictable performance. Industrial protocol support—covering EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and Modbus TCP—allows seamless integration with control and signalling systems.
Built to railway-grade specifications, the TN-5516A is ideal for applications such as onboard IP CCTV, passenger information systems, signalling backhaul, and Wi-Fi services, ensuring reliable connectivity and robust cybersecurity in mission-critical networks.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
