The TN-5518A-8PoE-2GTXBP-WV-CT-T is a conformal-coated managed PoE switch designed for railway networks requiring bypass resilience. It provides 18 ports, including 8 PoE Fast Ethernet ports (30 W per port, totalling 240 W), 2 Gigabit copper uplinks with bypass relays, and eight additional Fast Ethernet ports.
Bypass relays maintain network availability even during power failures, ensuring critical connectivity. Conformal coating further enhances durability by protecting internal circuits against humidity, condensation, and corrosion. The device supports dual 24–110 VDC redundant inputs and operates over a temperature range of -40 to 75°C.
An IP54-rated housing with M12 connectors provides vibration-proof performance, while certifications include EN 50155, EN 50121-4, IEC 60571, IEC 61373, and EN 45545-2 fire safety.
Resiliency features include Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (<20 ms recovery time), as well as RSTP/MSTP. Security tools include IEEE 802.1X, HTTPS, SSH, RADIUS, TACACS+, ACLs, and SNMPv3. Traffic optimisation features include VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, and link aggregation.
The TN-5518A-8PoE-2GTXBP-WV-CT-T is well-suited for railway applications needing resilient bypass functionality, integrated PoE, and environmental protection.
