The EDS-4008-2GT-2GS-HV is a rugged, managed Layer 2 Fast Ethernet switch designed for industrial networks that require a compact form factor and high reliability.
It features four 10/100BaseTX RJ45 access ports, two 10/100/1000BaseT(X) Gigabit uplinks, and two 100/1000Base SFP slots. This configuration allows for local copper connections as well as long-distance fibre or high-speed uplinks, depending on the specific variant selected.
Certified to IEC 62443-4-1 and IEC 62443-4-2, the switch ensures secure operation with VLAN segmentation, user authentication, access control, and event logging. It offers network resilience through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain technologies, which provide sub-20 ms recovery under typical loads, alongside RSTP/STP for standards-based redundancy.
Powering options are versatile, accommodating inputs from 88V to 300V DC or 85V to 264V AC, aligning with common control panel and field cabinet supplies without the need for additional conversion hardware.
The switch is housed in an IP40 metal enclosure with fanless cooling, designed for DIN-rail mounting. It includes status LEDs and a fault relay output to simplify diagnostics and maintenance.
Operating temperatures range from -10 °C to 60 °C, making it suitable for reliable service in indoor control rooms, equipment racks, and sheltered industrial cabinets.
Management and monitoring are made easy with tools like MXstudio, LLDP, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, and a user-friendly web/CLI interface. Additional features such as Quality of Service (QoS), IGMP Snooping/Querier, port trunking with LACP, and port mirroring help optimise deterministic traffic for control, video, and telemetry applications.
Typical use cases for the EDS-4008-2GT-2GS-HV include utility control rooms, heavy manufacturing, and transport infrastructure with high-voltage feeds.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
