The EDS-4008-2MSC-LV is a rugged managed Layer 2 Fast Ethernet switch engineered for industrial networks that need a compact form factor with serious reliability. It provides six 10/100BaseTX RJ45 ports and two 100BaseFX multi‑mode SC fibre ports to mix local copper connections with long-distance fibre or high-speed uplinks as required by the specific variant.
Certified to IEC 62443-4-1 and IEC 62443-4-2, it enables secure operation with VLAN segmentation, user authentication, access control, and event logging. Network resilience is delivered through Turbo Ring and Turbo Chain (sub-20 ms recovery under typical loads) alongside RSTP/STP for standards-based redundancy.
Powering is tailored for the environment: this model supports 9.6V to 60V DC Dual Power Input, matching common control-panel and field-cabinet supplies without extra conversion hardware.
The design uses an IP40 metal enclosure, fanless cooling, DIN-rail mounting, and status LEDs plus a fault relay output to simplify diagnostics and maintenance. Operating temperature is rated for –10 °C to 60 °C, supporting dependable service in indoor control rooms, equipment racks, and sheltered industrial cabinets.
Management and monitoring are streamlined with MXstudio, LLDP, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, and a rich web/CLI interface, while features such as QoS, IGMP Snooping/Querier, port trunking with LACP, and port mirroring help optimise deterministic traffic for control, video, and telemetry.
Typical applications include factory cells, process lines, and building management systems that mix copper drops with short/medium fibre runs. Whether deployed in brownfield upgrades or new builds, the EDS-4008-2MSC-LV helps operators harden their OT networks with consistent security controls and fast recovery from faults, while keeping installation simple and predictable.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
