The EDS-516A-T adds wide-temperature capability (-40 to +75 °C) to the 16-port copper model, making it a strong fit for outdoor cabinets, plant rooms and wayside enclosures. It provides 16 x 10/100 RJ-45 with auto-negotiation and MDI/MDI-X to simplify deployment. Turbo Ring/Turbo Chain redundancy delivers sub-20 ms recovery; STP/RSTP/MSTP ensure multi-vendor interoperability.
Deterministic control traffic is enabled by 802.1Q/port-based VLAN, QoS (802.1p/ToS), and IGMP snooping/GMRP for multicast restraint. Bandwidth management, RMON and port mirroring help fine-tune performance and speed up troubleshooting. The switch integrates easily with OT systems using EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP, and supports PROFINET transparency. Management options include web GUI, CLI, Telnet/serial console, Windows utility and ABC-01 for rapid backup and restore, while email/Syslog and a relay output provide proactive fault notification.
Electrical resilience comes from dual redundant 24 VDC inputs (12–45 VDC operating) with reverse polarity and over-current protection. Housed in an IP30 metal enclosure with DIN-rail or wall mount, the unit is tested for EMC, shock and vibration, and certified for ATEX/Class I Div 2 and DNV-GL.
With 8K MAC table, 256 IGMP groups and a 2 Mbit packet buffer, the EDS-516A-T delivers consistent uptime for energy, transportation and water infrastructure where temperature extremes and round-the-clock operation are the norm.
