For fibre-ready networks exposed to temperature extremes, the EDS-518A-MM-SC-T adds a wide-temperature rating to the mixed copper/fibre design. It offers 14 copper 10/100Base-T(X) access ports, two 100BaseFX multimode SC ports for reliable 2–4 km fibre segments in high-EMI zones, and two combo Gigabit uplinks (RJ45/SFP) for resilient aggregation.
Network availability is ensured by sub-20 ms Turbo Ring/Turbo Chain recovery and standards-based RSTP/STP/MSTP for multivendor topologies. Security features—IEEE 802.1X, TACACS+/RADIUS, SNMPv3, HTTPS/SSH, sticky port lock, and storm protection—pair with VLANs, quality of service, bandwidth shaping, and RMON to keep traffic organised and auditable.
Engineered for roadside cabinets, wind nacelles, water treatment outstations, and mining conveyors, the IP30 metal enclosure, DIN-rail form factor, and dual 24 VDC redundant inputs withstand poor power quality and environmental stress. The integrated alarm relay simplifies panel-level alarming to PLCs or annunciators. Use cases include bridging production lines across noisy drives, linking mezzanines and long aisles over multimode fibre, and feeding HD cameras or scanners where copper would be unreliable. EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP support seamless integration with PLCs and SCADA; PROFINET transparency ensures timing integrity on automation cells. The combo GbE uplinks allow you to choose between copper and SFP fibre per site constraints without requiring hardware changes.
Choose the -T model when ambient temperatures vary widely or cooling is limited; it protects uptime across seasons while preserving the same management toolset and redundancy behaviour as the standard model.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
