The EDS-518A-T extends the reliability of the EDS-518A platform into harsh outdoor and temperature-extreme environments. It pairs 16 10/100Base-T(X) copper ports with two combo Gigabit uplinks (RJ45 or SFP), enabling a resilient Fast-Ethernet access layer with flexible Gigabit backhaul. With Moxa Turbo Ring/Turbo Chain failover under 20 ms and standards-based RSTP/STP/MSTP, the switch provides deterministic recovery and interoperability across mixed vendor networks.
Security features meet modern industrial requirements, including IEEE 802.1X device authentication, TACACS+/RADIUS centralisation, SNMPv3, HTTPS/SSH management, port lock, and broadcast storm control. Engineers can shape traffic using port-based/802.1Q VLANs, quality of service (IEEE 802.1p/ToS), bandwidth limits, and RMON for trend analysis. Management is versatile—web UI, CLI, Telnet/serial console, and ABC-01 for rapid configuration backup/restore support, inline maintenance and minimal MTTR.
Built for field deployment, the rugged IP30 metal housing and dual 24 VDC redundant inputs handle unstable power scenarios, with reverse polarity/overload protection and a relay output to flag power or link events to PLCs or alarm beacons. The wide -40 to 75 °C rating fits roadside cabinets, water/wastewater sites, energy yards, and exposed factory zones.
Integration is straightforward. EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP support ease connectivity to PLCs, drives, and HMIs, and transparent PROFINET operation maintains timing on automation cells. Use the SFP option on combo uplinks for fibre runs between buildings or across long plant corridors. Select the -T model whenever ambient conditions or enclosure cooling are uncertain—this variant protects uptime when temperatures swing or thermal loads are high.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
