Moxa Products Supplied To the UK, From the UK
As an official UK distributor of Moxa products since 2014, we at Impulse are proud to be affiliated with Moxa Technical College. Our partnership enables us to provide comprehensive in-house training and first-line technical support, and our team of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) specialists are fully equipped to guide you through every step of the process. Whether you require assistance with installation, troubleshooting or anything else, our team is ready to assist you.
Technical Support from Impulse
Our commitment doesn't end with the initial setup—we provide lifelong technical support for the entire range of Moxa products at no extra charge. Count on us to ensure that your network operates at its peak performance throughout its entire lifespan.
The EDS-518A-MM-ST integrates two 100BaseFX multimode ST fibre ports alongside 14 copper Fast-Ethernet ports and two combo Gigabit uplinks (RJ45/SFP)—the ST connectors suit sites standardising on bayonet-style terminations or retrofit projects with existing MM ST plant cabling.
High availability comes from Moxa’s Turbo Ring/Turbo Chain (<20 ms) and standard RSTP/STP/MSTP. Security and control include IEEE 802.1X, TACACS+/RADIUS, SNMPv3, HTTPS/SSH, port lock, VLANs (802.1Q/port-based), quality of service, bandwidth management, and RMON statistics.
Industrial design features an IP30 metal enclosure, DIN-rail mounting, dual 24 VDC redundant power inputs with reverse polarity/overload protection, and an alarm relay output. Rated 0 to 60 °C, it’s ideal for enclosed equipment rooms, machine panels, and sheltered infrastructure nodes.
Typical deployments use ST fibre to cross electrically noisy areas, connect remote IO panels in warehouses, or reuse legacy multimode backbones between buildings. The two combo GbE uplinks add flexibility: use copper for short hops to aggregation switches, or SFP for longer fibre runs and future bandwidth growth. EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP compatibility simplify PLC/SCADA integration, while PROFINET transparency keeps automation communication reliable.
Whether you’re consolidating legacy ST fibre runs or adding EMI-resistant segments to a copper network, the EDS-518A-MM-ST offers a practical, managed platform with fast recovery, solid security, and straightforward management for cost-conscious industrial sites.
