The Moxa NPort 6450-2S-SC-G2-T is a secure, wide temperature 4 port RS-232/422/485 terminal server built for deployments where single-mode fibre is required. It combines one 10/100M copper RJ45 Ethernet port with two 100M single-mode fibre ports using SC connectors, enabling longer distance links and strong electrical isolation across industrial and infrastructure networks. This makes it well suited to rail and roadside systems, substations, utility sites, and industrial campuses where fibre backbones and long runs are common. 

Security is a defining requirement in modern OT networks, especially when legacy serial devices are being brought onto IP. The NPort 6400-G2 platform supports encrypted communications using TLS and SSH in secure operating modes, helping protect serial data as it is transported over Ethernet. Secure Boot helps ensure only authorised firmware can run on the device, reducing risk from tampering and supporting a secure device lifecycle. On the serial side, the unit provides four DB9 ports supporting RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485. It supports baud rates up to 921.6 kbps, including non-standard rates, making it compatible with a broad range of industrial controllers, meters, analysers, and serial peripherals. For RS-485 networks, software configurable termination and selectable pull high/low resistor settings help accelerate commissioning and improve signal stability, especially in large installations. 

Designed for tough environments, the 6450-2S-SC-G2-T operates from -40 to 75 degrees C and accepts 12 to 48 VDC input.
