The Moxa NPort 6450-2M-SC-G2-T is a wide temperature secure serial device server designed for industrial and infrastructure networks where fibre connectivity is preferred. It combines four DB9 serial ports (RS-232/422/485) with a mixed Ethernet interface: one 10/100M copper RJ45 port plus two 100M multi-mode fibre ports using SC connectors. This makes it a strong fit for electrically noisy environments, long runs, or networks where fibre is standard for isolation and resilience.
As part of the NPort 6400-G2 family, it is engineered for secure modernisation of legacy serial assets. It supports encrypted communications using TLS and SSH in secure operation modes, helping protect data as it is transmitted over IP networks. Secure Boot helps ensure only authorised firmware can run on the device, supporting robust lifecycle security for long lived deployments. The series is IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 certified, which is particularly relevant for utilities, transport infrastructure, and regulated industrial environments.
Serial capability is designed for compatibility. All four ports support RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485, with baud rates up to 921.6 kbps including non-standard rates. Where RS-485 is used, installers can set termination and select pull high/low resistor values via software, simplifying commissioning and helping stabilise bus performance without manual hardware adjustments.
The 6450-2M-SC-G2-T is rated for -40 to 75 degrees C operation, supporting outdoor cabinets and harsh industrial sites. It accepts 12 to 48 VDC input and offers practical installation options including desktop and wall mounting, with DIN rail mounting available via an optional kit. If you need secure serial connectivity but also want the benefits of multi-mode fibre for network reach and electrical isolation, this model is the natural choice in the NPort 6400-G2 lineup.

In order to process returned goods, Impulse Embedded Limited uses an internal RMA system. Before returning goods for any reason, please contact Impulse Embedded Limited (returns@impulse-embedded.co.uk) to request an RMA number. Please confirm the reason for the return of the goods, providing the Serial Number, Product Code, and Impulse Embedded Limited Invoice Number (if known).
When returning goods, please ensure they are suitably packed so as to avoid damage, are in the original packaging, along with all accessories, with the outer packaging marked with the RMA number. It is recommended that you use a signed delivery service, as goods lost in transit are not the responsibility of Impulse Embedded Limited.
Please do not write the RMA number on the goods or on the original packaging. Impulse Embedded Limited may refuse returned goods and return them if they arrive without an RMA number, or not in the original packaging.
